Freemantle Gate near Wroxall

Godshill to East Lane

This section follows the route of the Stenbury Trail, a walking route from Newport to Ventnor. It goes from just outside Godshill to join with the main Newport to Sandown cycle route, just after Merstone.

After passing through Moor Farm the route crosses open fields. This section can get very wet and muddy and is best suited to mountain bikes.

The route crosses the River Yar before joining East Lane. This is a quiet back road and after about 600m a path off to the left leads down to the Newport to Sandown cycle path.
